With the support of European Comission DG Regional and Urban Policy, the Danube photo exhibition „Nature’s havens on the Danube” opens in Brussels, from 14 April to 29 May 2015, on Avenue de Beaulieu 1 (Commission building BU-1).
Zsolt Kudich and Réka Zsirmon, Hungarian nature photographers, worked together on a visual campaign with the Danubeparks Nature Reserves in an EU funded project to represent and protect the current state of the Danube River and surrounding areas. This photo collection can be seen now in Brussels.
8 countries, 2800 kilometers, 14 National Parks, 4 months; the Kudich-Zsirmon nature photographer couple were chosen by the DANUBEPARKS – Network of Protected Areas to complete this project. The challenge was to capture and document the last untouched floodplanes, riverbanks, and the surrounding areas. With these pictures the current state of the river is preserved that maybe we will never see it the same again.
